Background
The Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC) and the Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums (DGAM) cooperated to establish hiking trails in the Forgotten Cities in the region of Aleppo. The project aimed to valorize Syria’s natural culture and heritage. MORES was retained to develop the scope, methodology, budget, and then to realize the project. The project centered on developing hiking trails along three different routes/circuits in the area of Samaan (Simeon) Mountain, in the Limestone Massif of North Syria, West of Aleppo, including:

Trail 1: Brad, Kafr Nabo, Borj Haydar, Kharab Shams, Kalota.
Trail 2: Banastour, Surqania, Sinkhar, Sheikh Sleiman, Kafr Antin, Batouta.
Trail 3: Sheikh Barakat, Qatoura, Refadeh, Sit El Room, Deir Samaan, Qalaat Samaan.
